MINONETTA, PALM BEACH DESIGNER
Minonetta says that she had her first fashion inspiration when her well travelled grand-mother opened this secret door in the huge house they were living in to introduce Minonetta to her personal collection of pristine clothes/hats/accessories from the past 50 years. Minonetta was then 8 years old. Later, when she was 18, Minonetta began collecting high-end vintage accessories. In College, she studied psycho-sociology of communications and marketing leading to an early career as a business consultant. But art and fashion were really her calling. While traveling in Europe, Minonetta acquired little by little a great collection of designer vintage accessories and eventually she designed a few pieces here and there to “respond to her own needs as a shopping addict,” she says. Then one day, while she was strolling and shopping on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, perfect strangers stopped her, (Minonetta), to ask her if she was a clothing designer. She’d had that desire in her mind, and now it was just a step away. She started to put together a collection of vintage items sold on Worth Avenue. The collection including vintage accessories, sunglasses, vintage designer clothes, vintage textiles and collections of trims and buttons, was very well received.
Minonetta’s new Collection 33480: Silk Organza Coats, incorporates elegance and comfort in a tropical environment. She says “Silk organza is perfect for Palm Beach’s tropical climate: sunblock, mosquito repellent and easy to travel with. Each piece is in limited edition and some are unique.”
